You Are Ready To Write Your Book And Need COACHING To Get It Done!
Writing a book can be a lengthy process and requires commitment. Yes, it would feel great to hold your book in your hand, to see your name on the cover, to see it fly off the table at your speaking engagements. Yet, holding your book in your hand is the result of your focused dedication of resources of time, energy, and money.
Creating your book takes more than just writing skill and research. It requires project management to keep you focused and dedicated.
Your book coach guides you through the book-writing process in the following ways:
With new authors, I start out with a package of 12 sessions over as many weeks - to get you up and running so you really start to see your book take shape. I charge $100 per session. Around the middle of a book, new and experienced authors often hit a snag, lose their momentum and focus. Or just plain get tired of the project. Hey, it happens. Usually a few refocusing sessions can get you through that first draft. You need to write that first draft with faith.
You then print that first draft (double-spaced) and set it aside to cool for a few weeks. Then you will set some hours aside to read what you wrote. You will make cryptic notes in the margins (no rewriting yet!) and longer notes in the notebook by your side. Flag what you think is missing, or could be better, or seems confused or weak. You will also flag the sections you think are good!
Now that you have an idea of how you would like to improve your book, I strongly recommend that you give that first draft to a Big Picture Editor. If you rely only on your own perspective you can easily fall into self-judgement and start to deconstruct and rethink and second-guess everything.
Their objective eye can save you A LOT OF TIME AND EFFORT and they can validate your work! Their recommendations can guide you through the revisions and improvements to create your best manuscript. You may still need some coaching to keep your momentum, so that is an option. After all, we can't have you stumble just before the finish line!
