About Leslie vanWinkle

My name is Leslie vanWinkle.
I'm a primarily a writer and editor.
I write copy for websites, marketing campaigns, and training materials.
I write, ghostwrite, and edit articles and books.
I work mainly with clients in the financial, real estate, entertainment, and personal development industries.
I’ve worn many hats, and some of them still fit.
I started my writing career as a freelancer for newsletters, magazines, and trade newspapers. I’ve worked in the printing and publishing industry on both the production and creative sides, including a staff position as Senior Book Editor for Lighthouse Publishing Group, which specialized on financial titles. Subsequently, I ghostwrote several books for the financial industry.
Periodic detours into media had me producing training videos, interactive multimedia, webinars, and PowerPoint presentations -- and for fun -- films! I have written 13 scripts and even had a few options. No sales yet. Sigh. But writing visually has improved my prose.
Oh. I can't forget the hundreds of songs I've written. So far I've produced three music CDs, and I'm sure more will arrive. Meanwhile, I'm making eBooks of the lyrics, as they stand well enough alone as poetry. I love the snap and swing of lyric writing and am grateful that the musical hooks arrive at the same time.
Along my journey as a writer, I’ve worked as a copywriter for advertising agencies and direct mail houses, as well as creating content for business websites. This led to my creating email campaigns and now social media strategies. I find the shifting world of digital media a constant source of interesting challenges and opportunities.
