Radio Assistant Manager and Marketing
Strategist
KCMU-FM
Radio (now KEPX); Seattle, WA
- Oversaw day-to-day office affairs, managed membership
database and maintained underwriting accounts.
- Coordinated volunteers for semi-annual fundraising
Beg-A-Thons.
- Designed and implemented marketing and fundraising
strategies. The most effective campaign involved the design
and implementation of a demographic study of radio
listeners, providing valuable input to the programming
department to create programming that better reflected the
tastes of the active listeners, rather than the personal
tastes of the volunteer DJs.
- The subsequent fundraising campaign resulted in a 200%
increase in collected donations over preceding campaigns
along with positive listener feedback on the new programming.
This increase in funds and listener participation provided
the necessary clout to request and receive capital funds for
a power increase.
