I've worked on the creative and technical sides of video and film production since 1979.
My credits include writing, producing,
directing, script supervision/continuity and acting.
My film work started out with the lead role in actress
in David Rosen's 1979 feature film “Vacation.” In addition
to my time on screen, I was responsible for continuity
during the two week shoot that covered numerous locations in Washington, Oregon and
Northern California.
"Vacation" won first prize in the Feature Film Category of the 1980 Bumbershoot Film
Festival. (Acting Credits)
Having discovered my passion for film, I earned a degree in
broadcast journalism and film production
from the University of Washington. I funded my education by
working as a freelance writer, video production assistant,
musician and assistant station manager for KCMU-FM (now KEXP).
In 1983, I received a scholarship from the National Academy of
Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS).
In 1987 I became a founding mother of Women in Film/Seattle
and was awarded their Education Grant in 2001, which I
used to take courses in film directing and score composition.
Also in 1987 I produced, wrote,
directed, shot and edited "A Tale for You,"
which was a three-part children's program featuring
nationally known Irish storyteller Tom Galt.
This was quickly
followed with "Northwest Tunesmith" -- a 12-part series of unplugged concerts that showcased
talented singer/songwriters who actively toured the Northwest. This series melded
my passions for music and film.
Following the successful launch of "Northwest Tunesmith,"
I returned to journalism, writing business, political and
general interest news regarding the Northwest film and video
community for WFVA, ITVA, WIF/S, Media Inc., and local
newspapers.
In 1995 I completed the year-long screenwriting program at the
University of Washington and to date I have completed nine feature
scripts. One script has been optioned and my scripts
have consistently earned high
marks in the more
significant script contest
such as Chesterfield, Nicholls and Austin.
In 1996 I helped found the Northwest Guild of Artists and Screenwriters
(NWGA).
I am currently involved in writing and producing interactive
multimedia productions used for corporate and technical
training.
Recent credits include the 10-minute comedy short "Fast Lane"
and "Creating a Campus
The Supports Our Purpose," a 12-minute fundraising video for
the Center for Spiritual Living.
